Blaauwberg Art Society’s aim is to encourage and support new artists. We provide a supportive and creative environment which promotes continuous learning and improvement of our skill as artists.
Meetings are held at the Milnerton Bowls Club at 6:30pm on the 2nd Thursday of every month. Visitors are welcome to attend these meetings. Entrance to the meetings costs R20 per member, R30 for non-members and students R20 each. This is to cover tea, coffee and eats. The Society’s library opens at 6:450 pm, members may borrow books and videos and return them at the next meeting.
We invite established artists to give talks and demonstrate their techniques at the meetings which are then followed up with workshops held by the various artists.
We hold exhibitions during the year where our members can showcase their work and gain exposure.
Plein air outings are organised to various locations around Cape Town.
Membership fees per annum are R200 per member and includes the annual fee for SANAVA (South African National Association for the Visual Arts).
There are many benefits in becoming a member of Blaauwberg Art Society; an opportunity to exhibit your work, networking with other artists and learning new techniques to name but a few.
Blaauwberg Art Society supports local charities and strives to give back to the community whenever we can.
Members receive our monthly newsletter and updates regarding excursions, exhibitions etc.
